Fractals have existed in nature from the very beginning. Everywhere you look you can find a fractal or in other words a repeated shape. Examples of fractals in nature include the Barnsley Fern, von Koch snowflake, and Fractal trees. Although those are specific examples everywhere you look you can find fractals, in mountains, clouds, coastlines, and other plants. Equations have allowed scientists to more easily produce a physical analysis of fractals and even re-create objects from nature with fine accuracy. Fractals have even been found within the human DNA!
